HEY! I’M CATALINA…
A few years ago, I found myself looking at my life and thinking, “I’m grateful for so much, but is this really the full picture of what life could be?”
I live in beautiful Sydney with my husband Felipe, our daughter Matilda, who is turning 12 this year, and our cheeky pet rabbit, Lexi. We’ve called Australia home for almost 20 years, after leaving my hometown of Medellín, Colombia, in search of adventure and new opportunities.
Family life is full and active in our house. Sport is a big part of what brings us together. Between Matilda’s swimming, netball, soccer, touch football and tennis, weekends are often spent on the sidelines cheering her on. As a family we also love travelling for sport. Recently we even took Matilda to Rome to watch AS Roma play Fiorentina - a bucket list moment for me.
Personally, I’m someone who thrives on movement and discipline. My mornings start at 5:30am with Pilates on my reformer at home, setting the tone for the day ahead.
From the outside, life looked successful and stable. But like many people, I started wondering if there was another way to design the future - one with more freedom, flexibility, and possibility.
When we grow ourselves, we show the next generation what’s possible.
THE CAREER THAT SHAPED ME: I’ve grown from entry level roles to becoming a leader in my field. When I first arrived in Australia, I started as an entry level role and worked my way up—gaining hands on experience in operations, transitioning into human resources, and eventually stepping into learning and development.
Along the way, I’ve built a deep understanding of people, teams, and the realities of the my current industry. On my everyday job, I support managers, develop leaders, and support others in unlocking their potential.
It has been an incredible journey of growth, and I carry deep gratitude for every step along the way. The opportunities I’ve been trusted with, the mentors who believed in me, and the people I’ve had the privilege to work alongside have shaped not only my career but the person I’ve become.
The connections I’ve built over the years are among my greatest assets—relationships that have supported me, challenged me, and inspired me to keep evolving. I’m grateful for all of it.
But over time, another realisation began to surface. While corporate life can provide stability, the traditional corporate structure also creates limitations, especially when it comes to time freedom, financial flexibility, and the ability to design life on your own terms.
For a family who loves travel, sport and shared experiences, those limitations started to feel more noticeable. .
A SHIFT IN PERSPECTIVE: Personal Development first entered my life through my professional work.
For years I’ve been responsible for helping others grow, including training leaders, developing teams, and guiding people to reach their potential. But at a certain point, a question quietly appeared:
What about me?
I realised that many of the principles I was teaching others were things I wanted to apply more deeply in my own life.
Around the same time, I began reflecting on the beliefs we pass down to the next generation. I grew up in a culture where success meant having a secure job and working hard within a company. That mindset provided stability for my family, and for that I will always feel grateful.
But I also wanted my daughter to grow up seeing another possibility - that entrepreneurship, growth and creating your own opportunities can also be part of life.
That reflection became the seed of something new.

BUILDING SOMETHING OF MY OWN: That reflection eventually led me to the business I now run alongside my corporate career.
Through a partnership with a global Personal Development company, I’m building a flexible business designed to grow with my life, not compete with it.
My brand, Anchoring Appreciation, reflects what matters most to me - gratitude for the generations who came before us, while creating a new path forward.
My focus is simple: encouraging parents, especially mums and dads, to grow themselves so they can lead by example for their children. To show that mindset matters, abundance can be learned, and success doesn’t have to follow only one path.
I’m still early into this journey and continue to enjoy the career I’ve built. But what excites me most is the possibility this path creates. I have more flexibility, more choice, and a future that can expand alongside our family.
